WIRING

The electrics are not my strong point - I count it a small miracle that it all works.  I guess, as in most interests, there are tasks that some would consider utterly simple and would not contemplate that someone couldn't do, for example, wire a signal.  However, there are folk new to making model railways - perhaps completing wiring tasks for the first time.  It can be incredibly frustrating the first time you switch on and nothing happens.  Perhaps the wiring is correct and there is just a loose connection.  In a moment of panic though you assume you have made a mistake - worse case scenario you change the wiring (now incorrect) and end up causing serious damage.

So - what follows here is intended to help those who - perhaps like me - have experienced intense frustration and could do with some help.

WIRING A LIGHT SIGNAL - SPDT SWITCH
